Driven to succeed
By Clemencia Jacobs
As part of its efforts to protect consumers and to raise awareness on networking, DB Space Namibia has taken it upon itself to educate the masses on information communication technology (ICT).
“There are too many people out there who are not educated enough on networking and also there is no consumer protection in the market. Therefore it is important that we disseminate information on the different areas of networking,” says Phillip Galliano, owner of DB Space.
DB Space distributes ICT networking and satellite equipment. The company, which was started in 2007, caters for the growing demands of the telecommunications and ICT dealers in Namibia. DB Space caters mainly for the ICT, telecommunications and satellite sector of the Namibian market.
“We are very customer -orientated and we also offer professional services. We are always willing to go the extra mile, I will come back to the office at 19:00 or at any other time when a client needs me. We also have sound knowledge of the business,” Galliano says.
The company's first priority is cost saving and customer satisfaction.
“We aim to achieve world class operational excellence for the benefit of our business partners, customers, dealers and our employees. We aim to create employment for people who value themselves enough to gain on the job expertise and knowledge,” the company states on its website.
The company offers a complete networking solution, with 80% of its clients based in Windhoek. DB Space distributes top brands such as Molex; SpaceNet – which designs, develops, and manages services for wireline and wireless broadband network solutions; Linkbasic; LinkQage - which specialises in networking, cables, converters and lcd brackets and Fluke Networks – Fluke Corporation is the world leader in the manufacture, distribution and service of electronic test tools, biomedical equipment and networking solutions.
“We do not offer a product, we offer a complete network solution. Due to the fact that the company offers top brands, we have been able to offer quality service. Our products are also guaranteed for 25 years. In the next 10 years, we want to be the top distribution company in the country,” Galliano emphasised.
He says the main challenge his business currently faces is that South African companies with big buying power often make it difficult for small companies such as DB Space to grow and get ahead. In order to stay competitive, DB Space ensures that its products and services remain of a high quality.
“I import from Dubai and Poland and we also offer training. Our values include excellence, loyalty, integrity, transparency and professionalism. Our prices are also competitive,” said Galliano.
As part of its social responbility, the company also employs people with no prior experience in networking and offers them hands-on training; it also offers training to the public. DB Space also informs and educates its clients on ICT development via e-mail and its website: www.dbspace.cc.
The company's sole aim continues to be “providing service of the highest standard and exceeding the expectations of our clients.”
