Molex certified installer training course 2012

This two day standards-based course covers all the basics required to successfully install and test Molex Premise Networks structured cabling products to the requirements of the Molex Premise Networks 25 Year Global System Warranty. Covers all technologies up to Category 6A.  

Course Content

Transmission Theory
Overview of basic principles of signal transmission over a communications medium.

History & Standards Overview
An overview of the development of structured cabling and the need for standards.

Cable Types
Metallic and non-metallic, shielded and unshielded cables, and pros and cons of each.

Cable and Site Preparation
Support infrastructure. Preparing the site and the cables. Labeling.

Planning the Installation
Site surveying; determining the optimum position for equipment.

Testing
Basic troubleshooting link components. What to test and how to do it.

Documentation
Proper documentation & commissioning of the project. Basic record keeping.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVE

On successful completion of the course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to install and maintain Molex Structured Cabling products, and to complete the required documentation process to the point of certification.

PREREQUISITES

No previous experience is required, but a basic knowledge of electrical theory is recomended.
